Finland based communications and mobile handset manufacturing company – Nokia has announced 2 new phones in its Asha line of phones – Nokia Asha 308 and Nokia Asha 309 which, the company claims are its most affordable capacitive touch screen based phones launched so far.
Nokia Asha 308 & 309 Features:
The newly launched duo has some common features such as, both of them spots 3.0” WQVGA capacitive touch screen, S40 based mobile operating system (read more on mobile phone operating systems), multiple home screen support, stereo radio, loud speakers, 2G data capabilities and support for upto 32GB expandable memory via micro SD card. The only feature that differentiates the phones is, Asha 308 has dual-SIM capability (with easy swap facility) in contrary to Asha 309 that supports single SIM and Wifi technology, to compensate with Asha 308 perhaps.

The phones also come with the free* gift of 40 premium EA games, social features such as standalone Facebook and Twitter clients, the Nokia Messaging Service, and video streaming through the browser from sites like YouTube – a first within the Asha Touch range.
Pricing of Nokia Asha 308 & 309:
Both the phones would have a mere price tag of $99 approximately which converts to less than 5.5K in Indian rupees.
The company also added that the phones would start shipping in the last quarter of the current year.
New Services Launched:
On another note, Nokia has also announced the launch of newer avatar of Nokia Life services named Nokia Life +. With Nokia Life +, as the company claims, all Nokia Asha users can easily get access to health and “infotainment” topics from the web browser absolutely free of cost (data charges shall apply).
